Therefore it is necessary to provide attention to both exercise and nutrition when looking to lose weight and become healthy. You will find that once you begin to eat better, you will want to exercise more and vice versa.

There are no points to tally, avoiding food groups and calories aren’t as restrictive as you may think. There is a lot of nutritional advice that we can help you with on your journey of getting fit and healthy. And we hope that this advice will eventually be adopted as a long term lifestyle change which will become second nature to your eating habits. During your initial consultation, we will request a food diary, preferably in picture format via email/phone but can also be written down which will help us assess exactly what your current eating habits are. We will then begin to educate and advise you on nutrition, and tailor a food diary, making small changes every week in order to reach your goals.

Avoid diets that do not work !
There are over 600,000 books and publications written about diets. Whilst these diets may work initially due to reduction in calories/fats, your body will think you are trying to starve yourself and will begin to slow down your metabolism and you begin to cave into cravings whilst putting on more weight than when you first began. THIS IS YO YO DIETING and it is something that Venus Fitness can teach you to avoid whilst eating and losing weight in a healthy way.
Keep a food diary
Jot down everything you eat and drink over a 14 day period. Be honest and as specific as you can about portions and amounts of butter/milk etc used. This will hopefully raise your awareness about what you are actually eating compared to what you think you are eating.
In order to stay healthy your diet must contain adequate amounts of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and salts. The present research advises 10 – 12% protein , 30 – 35% fats and 55 – 60% carbohydrates. Although the ratios can alter depending on what fitness goals are, i.e. gaining muscular weight, losing weight.
Water flushes and lubricates the body. In sufficient amounts it will assist in increasing energy and combined with oxygen, will help in burning fat during aerobic exercise. Water is the environment within which every chemical reaction occurs within the body. A 2% reduction in body weight as water will seriously effect performance, whilst a 5% reduction can prove fatal.
Eat more fibre
It is not only good for the digestive system but it also helps in reducing fat as it slows down the entry of carbohydrates into the bloodstream. Which means there is also less sugar entering the bloodstream, which in turn initiates a slower output of insulin. Thereby favouring fat burning rather than fat hoarding.
